This is an adorable little brooch.
Made in the 1940's, these popular Make Do and Mend brooches were made using plastic thonging, or in some cases wire covered with plastic, which was wound or crocheted onto a small metal ring and then trimmed with a central decoration, all fastened onto a collar bar.
This piece features a metal ring covered with pale blue thonging and has a pretty pale pink flower button in the middle.
A really pretty example which would look great on any lapel.
Measurements
Excluding the pin, and measuring the colourful design;
Diameter 1 1/2"
Condition
Good, with minor wear which is commensurate with age. Please look at the photographs properly to ensure that you are happy with the condition of the brooch. There is slight tarnish to the pin and the front is faded. The fade is even, so doesn't look that bad, and I only noticed it was faded when I flipped the piece over. Still a very pretty piece to brighten a lapel.
