This is an adorable little brooch.

Made in the 1940's, these popular Make Do and Mend brooches were made using plastic thonging, or in some cases wire covered with plastic, which was wound or crocheted onto a small metal ring and then trimmed with a central decoration, all fastened onto a collar bar. 

This piece features two metal rings, the small one covered with cream thonging and the larger one in a dark green/teal shade. It is finished off with a flower shaped button.

A really pretty example which would look great on any lapel.

Excluding the pin, and measuring the colourful design;

Condition

Fair, with wear which is commensurate with age. Please look at the photographs properly to ensure that you are happy with the condition of the brooch. There is slight tarnish to the pin and the plastic button is quite worn and the rings aren't totally on the centre.

 

Postage

All our jewellery is boxed and is only sent via a tracked and insured method within the UK. Although this option isn't the cheapest way of posting your items, it is the safest way. We will not use cheaper, untrackable option.
