Exceptional felt hat from the late 1930s or early 1940s.
Absolutely divine hat! Made in the 1940s from inky black felt, it has a black chiffon scarf which hangs over the right side and can be worn around your neck.
From the construction, and lack of label, I'd guess this was a homemade piece, completed to a high standard.
Measurements
It is quite a versatile hat and can be worn with the brim standing high or more slouched and pushed to one side. It isn't meant to fit fully on your head and will best fit up to a 22" head.
Width 10"
Depth 10"
Scarf length hanging down 36"
Condition
Beautiful condition, just a couple of small points to note;
-when held up to the light there are about 8 pinhead holes in the scarf and one area with some small holes - see photo
- if you put your fingers inside the hat the pins are a bit sharp - not a fault but just be careful
