This late Victorian Nanny brooch is pretty and practical.
I believe it is brass and it features a hollow tube which is filled with a teeny spool with black thread one end and white the other plus a pin and needle. These brooches were worn by the nanny and would be put to good use if the child tore their garments while out and about.
Set with a rectangle of delightfully glittery goldstone sitting between two ornate leaves it is a charming piece.

Condition
Good condition. Pin is nice and firm, the brooch just shows some minor wear and a dink in the back of the piece - see photo
