An absolutely beautiful dress from the 1940s.
Made from floppy cotton with a pretty floral print in yellow, purple, blue and green it has contrast collar, cuffs and belt and fastens down the back with the sweetest hand painted buttons. The skirt is pleated with a decent amount of fullness. It is a home made piece and the maker has left a good hem meaning you could gain up to 3" if the hem is dropped.
Team it with a wide brimmed straw hat and sandals and you're good to go!
The sleeves and bodice are made up of one piece so there isn't a defined underarm measurement as it runs into the sleeves. The bodice isn't meant to be super close fitting and would work well on up to a 38" bust. However, to ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the following measurements to a similar garment you already own;
Flat bust 19"/20"
Flat waist 14.5"
Flat hip 23"
Neck to waist 16"
Shoulders up to 17"
Excellent condition. Shows only very minor signs of wear and the only points to note are;
- pinhead hole and two 2mm snags in the fabric, all near each other on the front bodice
