This is an adorable little brooch.
Made in the 1940's, this popular Make Do and Mend brooch is made of a small metal ring which has yellow and orange plastic thonging crocheted on it. Fixed to a collar bar, the centre decoration is a cluster of thread tied into little knots to look like flower heads and then a large strip of flatter thonging tied into a bow. This is a really good sized piece compared to many of the other wartime wire brooches.
A really pretty example which would look great on any lapel.
