This piece has been entirely hand knitted from an original 1940s Bestway knitting pattern.
Worked in Stylecraft Luxury Pure Merino DK, a high quality wool which is wonderfully soft to the touch, it is a medium thickness. Beautifully shaped, it has broad rib, which gives a close fit, cable yoke and sleeves and a broad shoulder design giving the classic 1940s silhouette - it is finished with a neat collar.
Unlike the previous versions, this one is knitted in pure merino and the wool is three times the price of the acrylic, which is why this one is priced higher than other examples.
Measurements
It has a decent amount of ease so will fit a variety of sizes. It’s meant to be close fitting on the bodice.
Flat bust 14” stretching to 18” or 19” if you’re happy with a very close fit
Waist will work on a 24” up to a 28”
