This fabulous dress was made in the 1930's and is labelled Dorothy's of Tulsa.
Made from lightweight wool in inky black, it features slim fitting sleeves, which have zips on each end, bid shoulder pads to give you the iconic shape of the late 1930's, tucked bodice and waist detail which fan out into a sunburst design and a deep plunging neckline.
Originally the piece would have been most likely worn with a modesty panel but you could easily add a panel of lace or with some strategically positioned tape you could wear this dress as is.
Please note the colour is inky black. I have lightened some of the photos to show the detail and this appears to have slightly distorted the colour, but there are no colour issues in real life.
This piece will best fit up to a 40-32-42 but to ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to similar piece you already own. Obviously, the tighter you go on the bust, the more it will gape.
Flat bust 21"
Flat waist 16"
Flat hip 23"
Shoulders between sleeves 16"
Shoulder to waist 16.5"
Underarm sleeve length 17.5"
Good with some minor points to note;
- minor wear on the areas around the zip
- when held up to the light there are approximately 17 small darns ranging in size from 2mm up to 7mm but they are lost within the dark weave of the fabric
