This charming little brooch was most likely made in the 1930s or 1940s. This style of carved jewellery, often featuring edelweiss or alpine flowers, was popular during the 30s and 40s and was often purchased as a tourist piece.
This piece features a carved edelweiss pair, each with painted centres, set within a rectangular frame which has been painted, in part, brown. Lovely secure fixing on the back, this would look great with any outfit.
