This is a very fine piece of Edwardian silver.
Hallmarked for Birmingham in 1908 it was made by Henry Williamson Ltd. Originally an Edwardian nurses belt buckle, it has been converted into a sash pin with the two parts of the buckle soldered together. It has the anchor showing it was assayed in Birmingham, the letter stamp i for 1908 and the maker's mark H.W.Ld.
A statement piece it would be great on a coat or jacket. The pin is big and weighing in at nearly 30 grams it would be too heavy for a lightweight garment.
