This absolutely stunning coat was made in the late 1930's or early 1940's.
Made from medium to heavy weight wool in a deep shade of burgundy it is beautifully tailored and features broad shoulders, covered buttons, inverted pleats in the skirt section - giving the coat great movement when you walk, pockets and a fabulous high style collar trimmed with inky black real Astrakhan fur.
The coat is fully lined and is an iconic example of a coat from the time.

The coat will best fit a 38-30-40 depending on what you intend to wear underneath it. However, to ensure that this will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own and please note all measurements were taken on the outside.

Condition
Good with the following points to note;
- there is a small darn on the front left shoulder but it has been done well and is felt more than seen
- the lining isn't in great shape with underarm repairs and lots of small holes and scuffs and some watermarks
- some wear to the Astrakhan fur in places - the fur trimmed makes up a layer of the collar so isn't removable.
- some small moth grazes to the upper layer of wool in a few places but they are not holes, just nibbles to the upper surface which are felt more than seen
