This pretty little hat was made in France in the 1930's.
Labelled 'G.Chatelet Chapelier Paris' it is made from natural straw in a fine weave.
It has a small, close fitting crown and a sweeping brim which is wider in the sides that the back. It is lined with ivory coloured silk and is finished off perfectly with a black grosgrain band and a metal trim.
The perfect finishing touch to your vintage outfit.

Condition
Structurally it is in good order and the straw is strong. However, it had been on display for a number of years before I acquired it and a later of general dust has built up over time. I have brushed it and a lot came off but there is still a residual grubbiness. There are also some brown stains and the metal trim in the front has some rust on it. The silk lining is also very worn in places, but this wouldn't be seen in wear. Please look at the photographs carefully to make sure that you're happy with the marks. It is still a fabulous hat and just perfect for the true vintage lover who can overlook the imperfections.
