This beautiful piece was made in the 1930's.
Made from raw silk it appears to be a home-sewn piece which has been made to a high standard.
It has a simple a-line skirt which is made up of two panels and fastens at the left side with hooks and eyes and a white metal zip. The jacket has some charming design details with neat little lapels, low waist fastening, neat back belt and beautiful mother-of-pearl buttons.
Neither piece is lined so you'll need to wear a slip as the silk is slightly sheer.
Flat waist 13.25"
Flat hip 22.5"
Flat bust 21"
Flat waist 19.5"
Underarm sleeve length 15"
Structurally very good with some minor points to note;
- the skirt has three incredibly faint marks on it, so faint that they won't capture in the photos. The suit has been soaked and treated for stains and they didn't shift so they are there to stay but they can only be seen on very close inspection.
- the has some very light marks, mostly in the front right, and there is some slight discolouration but it is minor
