This is such a wonderful example of wartime Make Do and Mend.
Made in the 1940s, this home made piece is made entirely out of shoes laces! They have been cleverly twisted and woven together to create a pretty open work design. The tops of the shoe laces, which have metal tips, are left hanging as added detail. The strap is made entirely of laces too, and the bag is entirely lined in cotton.
Measurements

Condition
Very good with minor wear. The stitches on the bottom where the two sides are joined are visible and there are a few small marks but its a wonderful piece which still has plenty of life left in it.
