This vibrant Mexican tourist piece was made in the 1950's from cherry red felt.
A traditional design it has been beautifully embroidered with buildings, cacti, flowers and more!
The edges of the entire piece are decorated with purple and ivory wool.
Measurements
It is meant to be a loose fitting piece and will fit up to a 38" bust best but please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own, playing close attention to the shoulder measurement.
Flat bust with the front just meeting - 21.5"
Shoulders between sleeves 17.5"
Length 28"
Underarm sleeve length 18"
Top of shoulder to sleeve edge on the outside 24 1/4"
Condition
Good with some points to note;
- there are 5 pinhead holes when held up to the light
- light wear and the most minor thinning of the felt on back of the forearms, like when you rest your arms on a table when typing on a laptop
- some small pinholes in the back of the sleeves in the same place as the wear listed above
- some nibbles to the pockets, but this is on the reverse so not seen when worn
- the edge stitching in purple and ivory has been replaced in parts - by me - and there is the most minor colour variation in the wools
