Lovely little lightweight coat from the 1930s.
Made from crepe this piece is unlined. Some beautiful details including vertical pin-tucks down the back, large covered buttons and chevron trim detail which has been made using the reverse of the fabric.
Measurements
It is meant to be a loose fitting piece and has no shaping from the shoulders down, as was typical of the era, so please check the measurements below against a similar garment you already own.
Flat bust across the back 20" - the front is not meant to meet at the bust so this will best fit up to a 38"
Shoulders between sleeves 14.5"
Shoulder to hem 38.5"
Underarm sleeve length 16.5"
Condition
Very good with minor points to note;
- there is an 8mm graze on the cuff. It hasn't gone through to a hole but you can see it is thinner when you hold it up to the light. There is a similar graze in the body of the coat and this one is 6mm
- there is pinhead hole on the front left of the coat just by the turned hem
