This wonderful piece was made in the 1920's or early 1930's.
Made from inky black silk crepe it features long sleeves with poppers on the cuff, fastens at the back neck with a red glass button, has little puff sleeve heads, has tiny metallic soutache swirls down each sleeve, the middles of which are embroidered with a silk dot in red or blue and then the most incredible embroidered neckline. The soutache and embroidery on the neckline has been worked in a mix of metallic and silk threads.
The dress can be worn without a belt, as there are no belt loops, or can be cinched in, as shown in the final photo.

Condition
Very good with minor points to note;
- a 1cm repair to the centre of the back opening - only seen on close inspection
- a couple of areas of wear on the silk dots on the sleeves
- some of the soutache has been re-sewn on in clear thread
