Exceptionally beautiful blouse from the 1920's.
Made from fine muslin the fabric has a stripe to it in graduating widths of pale blue. It has the prettiest details with teeny glass buttons down the lace trimmed front placket, neat turned back cuffs, lace trimmed collar and finely gathered sleeves, the piece has been carefully embroidered with lily pads and seagulls.
The buttons are for decoration only and the blouse actually fastens down the front with teeny silver tone poppers.
An incredibly sheer piece, it would need to be worn with a slip.
Measurements
This piece is not meant to be at all close fitting. It will fit up to a 35" bust maximum. It is meant to be loose in the front. To ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust in the back 18"
Flat bust in the front 22"
Length from back neck to hem 17"
Length from front neck to hem 20"
Underarm sleeve length 2 3/4"
Flat cuff 5 1/4"
Shoulders between sleeves 15 1/4"
Condition
Good with some points to note;
- there is a very, very faint mark on the front right bust - see photo - I haven't attempted to wash the blouse as I don't know whether the blue is colourfast and didn't want to risk it running
- there are three darns in the front and one in the back
- due to the nature of the weave, there are some slight pulls - they aren't holes but are movement of thread
- slight underarm stress
Still an exceptionally beautiful piece.
