This beautiful blouse was made in the 1930's.
Made from semi sheer crepe in the palest pink, the embroidery is exceptional and is worked in shades of blue, yellow, pink, green and white and fastens at the neck with a little pink tie with tassel ends.
In the back of the blouse, there are the remains of a label which says "Made in Hungary".
Measurements
Please note this piece is petite. The waist is very small and, unlike many of the Hungarian blouses, it doesn't have a side opening. The seams are sealed right to the bottom and the embroidery worked on top of the seams so it has never had an opening. A clever seamstress could probably alter this piece and create a side opening but it isn't something I've wanted to attempt. Please be mindful of that when considering whether this piece will fit you or not;
Bust best for up to a 36" if you can make the waist opening work for you
Flat waist 14" max - you'll need to be petite to fit your shoulders and bust through this gap
Shoulder to hem 18"
Underarm sleeve length 5"
Flat cuff 4.5"
Condition
Good with some points to note;
- there is a stain on the left waist on the embroidery - see photo
- there are a small number of pinhead holes in the blouse, but they are mostly lost within the fullness of the gathers
- it looks like there has been an alteration or repair to the very front centre which I only noticed when I turned the blouse inside out
