Please note this piece is wounded but wearable. It is NOT in perfect condition so please read the condition report carefully to ensure that you are happy with the issues. It needs to be loved and worn by a true vintage lover or 1940's re-enactor.

 

Made in the 1930's, this once stunning suit is labelled Gladwear Model.

A smooth wool check in blue, brown and cream it has narrow shoulders, a single button fastening at the waist and smartly tailored skirt. It fastens on the left hip with a metal zip and popper and the jacket is crepe lined.

 

Measurements

Please note, the measurements have all been taken on the outside of the suit. To ensure this piece will fit you, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own. It is shown on a 35" bust mannequin and although the jacket just fastens, it is much too tight in the back and will only fit up to a 33" bust.

Condition

Wounded but wearable.

The skirt is in very poor condition with a significant number of visible darns, small areas of thinning and pinhead holes. There is also a mark on the skirt.

The jacket is in much better condition with the following points to note;

- damage to the lining near the label plus 2 pinhead holes

- a number of very small darns which can be felt when you run your hands over the piece and a smattering of darns which are visible - three on the left sleeve and 2 on the back

- damage to the lining on the left sleeve end where the darns are and evidence that the lining has been dropped at the cuff

- minor damage to the lining on the right sleeve end and evidence the sleeves have been dropped

 

It still has lots of life left in it for a true vintage lover and has been priced accordingly.
