Made in the late 1930s or early 1940s, this inky black felt hat is fabulous and such a great shape. A deep crown with a wide, upturned brim, it is designed to be worn tilted to the right side of your head. The brim is wired which helps keep the shade and the hat is trimmed with a wide black grosgrain band which is tied into a bow at the back.
It is not meant to fit fully on your head and is meant to sit slightly on the top and tilted to one side and will work on up to a 22" head. The inner band measures less than 22" but as stated, it isn't meant to fit full on.
Deepest part of the crown 4"
Very good with just a couple of small points to note;
- there are two small grazes to the grosgrain trim which goes around the edge of the hat
- the grosgrain band on the inner of the hat shows some wear
