This is a great little swimsuit.
Made in the 1930s, it is machine knitted and made from wool in a stylised floral print in autumnal shades on a bright blue base and is trimmed with natural coloured wool bands.
This is a lovely suit which is close fitting and has a waist insert, seamed bust detail and fastens with straps which go over the shoulder and tie in the centre back.
Measurements
This will fit up to a 36-28-38 but please check the measurements below against a similar suit you already own to ensure that this will fit you. Remember that it is meant to be a really snug fit.
Bust will fit a 34"/36" as the straps allow you to adjust it to that size
Flat waist 12" stretching easily to 14"
Flat hip 14" stretching to 19"

Condition
Wearable but not perfect. It looks really smart on but, as so often happens with vintage wool garments, there are some minor repairs to note;
- numerous small repairs but they are only really visible from the reverse of the fabric or on a very close inspection
- the moths seem to have really liked the natural wool and so there are a number of small holes in the straps and on the "shorts"
- some wear around the holes where the ties thread
- a number of small holes and repairs to the straps
- some colour fade from the main body onto the natural wool
The darns are old and appear to be strong but even if you aren't confident to get the suit wet you can still look fabulous pool side!
