This is such a charming piece with the prettiest cluster of faded flowers in autumnal shades.
Made in the 1930's and labelled "Gaebel" it is made from lightweight straw which has been painted black. It is a side tilt piece with a little skull cap with a shallow crown and a sweeping brim which is decorated with a variety of fabric flowers, leaves and ribbons.
Measurements
It will fit up to a 22" head. You will probably want to add a hat elastic or secure the piece with a hat pin
Width 11"
Depth 11"
Condition
This piece has been well loved but still has plenty of life left in it, if looked after. Points to note;
- the flowers are all faded. The fade is even and actually looks beautiful
- some of the black lacquer is coming off in a small number of places
