This is a gorgeous little fur evening cape from the 1930's or 1940's.
An absolutely glorious design, the skins are vertical in the top section of the cape and then in horizontal linear sections on the bottom. A large collar which is all fur, there is a hook at the back which gives the collar the huge stand-up design. If you don't fasten the top hook the collar will lay flat.
The piece is fully lined and has two hook fasteners.
The perfect accessory for an evening dance or would be ideal for a winter wedding.
Measurements
It is a petite fitting piece which is suitable for a 34" bust maximum.
Back of neck to hem 20"
Fullness at hem 77"
Shoulders are a petite fit and will best fit a 15" shoulder
Condition
Good vintage with some minor points to note;
- there are some small repairs to the seams between the pelts, but they are only visible when you are looking for them as they disappear into the fullness of the fur pelt
- there are a few very small areas where the fur has thinned - these are on the edges where you'd touch the cape - but these are not especially visible as the skins are white - the most noticeable one is on the very front right of the cape - see photo
- the lining appears to have been re-sewn to the cape
- some marks on the lining on the edges and there are two old repairs to the lining
