This is a really neat little hat and looks much better on than the photos show.
Made in the late 1930's, it is made from mohair wool in a soft sage green colour and has strips of crepe running across the crown. The piece is close fitting and is trimmed with a little cluster of dyed feathers.
It doesn't have a label and could be a home sewn piece but if it is home made it has been done to a very good standard.
Measurements
It will work on 21" head.
Deepest point of the brim 3.5"
Condition
Structurally it is in very good condition, the only points to note are;
- when you turn down the brim and look closely, the "hidden" edges are darker, so the piece has overall fade
- there is some minor wear to the tips of the feathers - see photos
