This charming dress was made in the late 1940's or early 1950's.
Made from lovely floppy cotton in a charcoal grey it has a subtle print which, when looked at closely, includes trees and buildings.
A classic day dress with a button-through design, slim fitting sleeves with neat cuffs and a smart collar, it is a great wardrobe staple for a vintage lover.
This piece will best fit up to a 40-36-44 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 20.5"
Flat waist 18.5"
Flat hip 23.5"
Shoulders between sleeves 14.5"
Shoulder to waist 15"
Length 40" plus there is 2" in the hem to let down
Underarm sleeve length 4.5"
Flat cuff 7"
Underarm to waist 6"
Good with some points to note;
- there is a 1" by 3/4" darn in the front skirt, near the side seam and just up from the hem. It is mostly covered by the folded up hem and is lost within the print. If you drop the hem you may need to re-do the darn
- there is some fade. I didn't notice it until I turned the dress to the side when on the mannequin but the back is slightly lighter than the front and so must have been hung in the light for a while at some point. The photos aren't really showing the difference in colour very much but there definitely is some. However, because of where it is it isn't that noticeable
Has been washed, pressed and is ready to wear.
