This beautiful blouse was made in the late 1940's and carries the 11011 label in the side seam.
Made from wonderfully soft pure silk, in a pretty flesh tone, it has some charming details including faggoting, pin-tucks, mother of pearl buttons, an embroidered collar and fabulous ruffled jabot.
A great piece which is much prettier in real life than the photos show.
Measurements
The blouse is not meant to be close fitting but is meant to be blouson and tucked into a skirt or trousers. It will best fit up to a 38" bust maximum but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 20" in the front and 22" in the back
Flat waist 18"
Shoulders between sleeves 14.5"
Length 22"
Underarm sleeve length 6"
Flat cuff 6"
Condition
Fair/good with some points to note;
- there are some self marks on the piece - see photos - the most noticeable is on the right front bodice
- there are some 2mm holes - 2 back left, 3 back right, 3 left shoulder, 2 right shoulder and 4 in the front bodice - I believe darning them will make them more visible unless they are mended with the same colour silk thread, which I haven't been able to source
- repairs under two buttons
- the bottom button doesn't match the rest, but this isn't seen when the piece is tucked in
