This pretty dress was made in the late 1940's or early 1950's.

Made from thick cotton in a pretty shade of pink it has a lovely print of ferns in white. A classic dress for the summer it features a fitted bodice, a neat collar, turn back cuffs, is button through and has pockets.

It is a commercially made piece, as there is the shred of a label in the back neck, but it has had a number of alterations and they haven't been done to the same high standard as the original work when it was made.

Still a great wardrobe staple for the vintage lover.

Condition

Good with some points to note;

- there are three pinhole black spots on the bodice to the left of the top button

- there is a 5mm mark on the back left shoulder area

- the main issue is someone has clearly altered the dress at some point and raised the skirt over the bodice to make it shorter. It has subsequently been let out and that has resulted in a band on the bodice - about 3" wide - which is brighter than the rest of the dress as it wasn't exposed to the sunlight. There is a stitch line visible on the bodice where the alteration has been made but this is only noticeable close up.
