This piece was made in the 1940's by Glen Maid, New York.
Made from beautiful raspberry pink wool the jacket is smartly tailored. The skirt is very fitted and has a centre front pleat, a little split at the hem of each side seam and fastens on the left side with a metal zip and single button. The skirt is unlined.
The jacket has the iconic broad shoulders or the era and fastens with smart covered buttons, has pocket flaps (for decoration only - no pockets) and is fully lined.
Classic tailoring, it is a timeless piece.

Condition
Good with some minor points to note;
- there is a 1/2cm darn on the front left waistband of the skirt
- there is minor underarm discolouration on the lining
- a pinhead moth graze on the right bodice - not a hole
- small darn on the left sleeve head and on the sleeve edge, 4" up from the cuff
- small mark on the left shoulder
- the most minor colour change in a thin line across the shoulder - only seen when you place the hem against the shoulder
