This charming piece was made in the 1940's and carries the CC41 label in the back neck of the jacket.
Made from Moygashel the jacket has some wonderful style details with the classic broad shoulders of the era with large shoulder pads to keep the shape, scalloped detail running down the jacket fronts, a back belt on the jacket and a neatly pleated skirt.
It fastens down the left skirt with a hook and poppers and the jacket fastens with clear plastic buttons.
When I purchased it I had the privilege of seeing a photograph of the original owner in the suit and from her hairstyle it is clear that this piece is from the early 1940's.
Please note that the colour is even and although the photos are making the pink look washed out in some shots, there is no issue with the colour.
The suit has a size 36 label which is for the hip measurement and the piece will fit up to a 34-25-36 maximum. It is a petite fitting piece and the original owner shortened the skirt so please check the measurements carefully to ensure that the suit will fit you properly.

Structurally it is in very good condition with only minor signs of wear. However, there are some minor points to note;
- there is a mark down the right sleeve - see photos - when I got the suit is was heavily discoloured across the shoulders and both sleeves, I treated it with Retro Clean and almost all of the marks came out but the one on the sleeve is stubborn. It is very light but it is there
- there are a few faint brown marks - a couple on the front and back jacket and a few in the skirt - they are only seen when looking for them. When looking at the full length photos you can see that they aren't bad
- the belt has some light rust marks. The original belt was metal covered with the fabric but this had tarnished over time and left marks on the belt. Most marks are hidden by the buckle.
- the pleat seams on the skirt have been partly hand sewn at the bottom and it’s a little messy on close inspection
