This gorgeous jacket was made in the 1940's by 'Weldrest London' and features the CC41 label in the side seam.
Made from medium weight check wool in soft grey, pale blue and white it is a beautifully tailored piece and is the classic shape of the era.
Single breasted with broad shoulders, a nipped waist, neat cuffs and pockets, it is a timeless piece and a great wardrobe staple for a vintage lover.
Measurements
The jacket is shown on a 35" mannequin and this is the biggest the jacket will best fit if you want to be able to raise your arms when wearing it! However, to ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below with a similar piece you already own and please note all measurements have been taken on the outside of the jacket;
Flat bust 18"
Flat waist 15"
Shoulders between sleeves 16"
Shoulder to hem 24.5"
Underarm sleeve length 17.5"
Condition
Good with some minor points to note;
- minor lining stains with some wear and small holes around the armholes
- a 1" darn on the back of the right sleeve
- a 1/2" darn on the left cuff
- a 1/2" darn on the centre back
- three more very small darns
- the most minor discolouration on the outside - this is only seen when you compare the inside collar to the outside fabric
The darns have been really well done and are felt when you run your hands over the fabric than see.
