This is a really special piece for a 1940's enthusiast.
Made in the 1940's it is labelled 'Celanese Utility Fabric' and carries the CC41 label in the slip and the knickers.
The set consists of a pair of French knickers with button side fastening and a small elasticated section in the back waist and the slip is a classic piece with no frills or fuss, just simple and timeless in design.
The fabric is celanese and has a base of soft pink with a ditsy floral print in pink, yellow, blue, green and white.
This beautiful set comes in the original box that it was gifted in all those decades ago. The gorgeous gift box is gold with red and black print and has the recipients name, 'Ethel' on a note on the top corner. The set came to me still wrapped in the original crinkle crepe Christmas paper in deep pink with a firework pattern in blue, magenta and green with glittery middles. It even has a little Merry Christmas bell sticker!
Ordinarily I would steam pieces before photographing them but I didn't want smooth out the folds that have sat in the set for many years.
A truly special piece.
