Such a fabulous wardrobe staple!
This jacket was made in the 1940s and is labelled Brenner Sports. Made from wool it has a herringbone design in two shades of grey/blue and then a stripe to give an added lift. Lined with peach crepe, it has the coveted CC41 label on the inner lining seam. Can comfortably be worn over a blouse, as shown in the final photograph - blouse not included in the listing.
Jackets are so tricky to measure but this is shown on a 33" mannequin and is a little loose so would work well on a 34" bust. The below measurements have been taken on the outside of the jacket so please bear this in mind and compare my measurements to a similar item in your collection;
Flat bust 18"
Flat waist 13.5"
Shoulders between sleeves 14.5"
Neck to hem 24.5"
Underarm sleeve length 17.5"
Good and presents really well but there are some minor points to note;
- there are a few ink stains on the lining, see photo
- approx. 8 pinhead holes scattered across the lining
- visible darns on the left bodice just above the pocket, on the inner right sleeve, on the back right shoulder
- there are some really small, approx. 2-3mm darns over the piece. You can feel them more than see them
