Made in the 1940s in Philadelphia, this is such a gorgeous hat.
Made from dark brown felt, it has a charming shape and an unusual brim position whereby some of the crown, which is trimmed with velvet, shows in the front of the piece with the velvet trim running round the back and finished in a bow.
The forward facing photo doesn't really show the piece properly, the true shape of the piece can be seen best in profile.
