This is an adorable little brooch.
Made in the 1940's, these popular Make Do and Mend brooches were made using plastic thonging, or in some cases wire covered with plastic, which was wound or crocheted onto a small metal ring and then trimmed with a central decoration, all fastened onto a collar bar.
This piece features two metal rings, the largest of which is crocheted with green and cream thonging and the smaller one wound with cream thonging. The middle is trimmed with a pretty button and a spray of three flowers worked in the same thonging.
A really pretty example which would look great on any lapel.
