This fabulous piece was made in the 1940's from crisp white cotton with a wonderfully vibrant print in red, blue, green and pink.
A petite fitting piece for the shorter lady it has a pleated bodice, short sleeves with white piped turn back cuffs, deep collar with a white piped edge, it fastens with eight white buttons, has pockets and still has the original tie belt.
I believe this was originally a chore dress but it is far too pretty to be kept for home. It truly would make a perfect summer dress.
Measurements
The dress will best fit a 34-30-40 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

Flat waist 16" but this is meant to be cinched in with the belt
Flat hips 22"
Shoulders 13"
Shoulder to waist 14"
Shoulder to hem 37"
Flat cuff 4 3/4"
Underarm sleeve length 3 1/2"

Condition
Deadstock. The dress was found with a collection of other pieces, all of which had never been worn and had been in storage for decades. It still has the fabric dressing smell. Although it has never been worn there are a few small points to note;
- slight storage odour but this will air out or wash out
- there is a stain on the front of the dress between the bottom two buttons-see photo-I have spot cleaned it by hand and the strain has lifted a little but I'm sure with further treatment and a proper wash the stain can be removed
