This pretty little dress was made in the 1940's.
Made from semi sheer fine crepe it is a classic dress of era. It has broad shoulders, blouson fitting bodice, neat collar, covered buttons and the prettiest of prints featuring feathers tied with ribbons.
The dress is quite sheer and will need to be worn with a slip.
Measurements
The dress is meant to be loose fitting on the top so. It will fit up to a 40-30-42 but will work on smaller, if belted. Please note the shoulders are quite wide, so make sure you carefully compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 22"
Flat waist 15.5"
Flat hip 22"
Shoulders between sleeves 17"
Shoulders to waist 16.5"
Length 43"
Underarm sleeve length 5.5"
Flat cuff 6"
Condition
Good with some points to note;
- there are five small darns spread across the piece
- most minor colour change on the right sleeve and shoulder blade area
- belt loops but no belt
- wear to the shirring on the left waist
- main issue is a black mark on the hem - please see photo - someone has turned the hem up slightly to disguise some of the marks but there is still a mark visible - it has been washed and the mark is still there so I don't think it going anywhere
Still a really pretty dress, even with the issues.
