This classic 1940's day dress is a home sewn piece which has been made from lightweight wool in a broad stripe red and white herringbone.
Featuring a pointed yoke with inverted pleats in the bodice, it fastens with 4 square mother of pearl buttons. With a neat collar and smooth sleeves, it is finished off perfectly with a back belt.
A great wardrobe staple for a vintage lover.

The dress will best fit a 38-33-40 but to ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

Length 41.5" with no hem allowance
Belt is currently set with poppers at 33" but this could be adjusted
Condition
Good with the following points to note;
- as a home sewn piece there are a few wibbly seams on close inspection
- wear to the buttonholes
- light wear on some seams, mostly the waist but these are covered by the belt
- front skirt darts have been top stitched by hand and it is a little wobbly
- fraying to inner seams but not seen when worn
- someone has replaced the original shoulder pads with modern foam ones - they help complete the look but have only been tacked in so could easily be removed
