This charming belted day dress was made in the 1940's.
Made from pink crepe it has a wonderful novelty print of birds in black with pink and blue leaves against a white ground.
Featuring a sweetheart neckline it has a close fitting bodice, neat cuffed sleeves and a broadly pleated skirt which has a good fullness to it. Finished off perfectly with a neat little belt.
There is a short zip at the back neck and a much longer zip on the left side. I believe the side zip is a replacement as it is much longer than any I've seen fitted in a dress and it has been stitched in upside down.

Condition
Presents beautifully but there are a number of points to note;
- a 2.5" x 1.5" patch on the left front shoulder
- a small darn on the left underarm
- a 1cm darn on the left sleeve top
- 1" patch on the front hem
- 2 small 1cm darns in the skirt
- a 1cm darn on the right front shoulder
- there is a 1cm patch on the inside bodice reinforcing a thinned area on the front bodice - only really seen from the inside
- there are a number of small faint marks on the piece - I haven't washed the piece so don't know whether the marks would lift
Because of the busy print, most of the issues are lost and only seen on close inspection.
