This is an adorable little brooch which is just perfect for Christmas.
Made in the 1940's, these popular Make Do and Mend brooches were made using plastic thonging, or in some cases wire covered with plastic, which was wound or crocheted onto a small metal ring and then trimmed with a central decoration, all fastened onto a collar bar.
This piece features two metal rings, each covered with crochet thonging worked in white and orange and finished perfectly with a button middle.
A really pretty example which would look great on any lapel.
Excluding the pin, and measuring the colourful design;
Diameter 1 1/8th"
Good, with minor wear which is commensurate with age. Please look at the photographs properly to ensure that you are happy with the condition of the brooch. There is some slight tarnish to the pin and the button is a little worn.
