This pretty little day dress was made in the 1940's.
A home sewn piece it is made from textured cotton in a pretty patterned stripe design. The fabric has been cleverly used to create bands of stripes running both vertically and horizontally.
Featuring a close fitting waist insert and a gathered bust, it has a neat square neckline, smartly darted sleeves and a fabulously full skirt and the dress fastens down the back with a long metal zip.

Good with some points to note;
- on the inside there are two rust spots on the waist insert
- a 1/2" darn on the back waist insert, just beside the zip
- the outside is less vibrant than the fabric on the inside--an issue which is only seen when you compare the outer and inner fabrics so not actually seen when worn
Washed, pressed and ready to wear.
