This is an adorable little brooch.
Made in the 1940's, these popular Make Do and Mend brooches were made using plastic thonging, or in some cases wire covered with plastic, which was wound or crocheted onto a small metal ring and then trimmed with a central decoration, all fastened onto a collar bar.
This piece has been a little crudely made and features a metal ring covered with flat purple thonging with a smaller ring covered with dark green thonging. The middle is trimmed with a pretty floral button. The brooch is secure but whoever made it wasn't the neatest worker and it is a little uneven and out of shape - see photos.
Even though it isn't perfect it would look great on any lapel.
