This is a really beautiful smock in such a wonderfully vibrant print.
Made in the 1940's from a delightfully floppy cotton it has been beautifully made and is labelled St Michael.
turquoise ground with a pretty floral design in yellow, red, blue and white it features long sleeves with elastic shirred cuffs, gathered sleeve heads, a dropped back and patch pockets.
Originally designed to be worn over your clothes to protect them while doing chores, it could easily be adapted to be worn out for everyday wear. It could be shortened and adapted to become a more conventional length blouse.
However you decide to style it, it is far too pretty to only be used for chores!
Measurements
Smocks, by design, are very loose fitting and have no shaping in the main body. This will fit a variety of bust sizes but the best indication as to whether this will work for you will be the shoulders. It isn't meant to be close fitting so please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

Condition
Good with some minor points to note;
- there is wear under all the buttons, which isn't seen when worn but is something to be aware of
- a darn beside one button
- the shirring elastic at the cuffs has lost some elasticity
- small darn under the underarm
- a few small marks but these are lost within the vibrant, busy print
