This fabulous dress was made in the 1940's.
Made from heavy linen, I believe the dress originally started life as a housecoat or dressing gown and has been altered. It features a smooth fitting button front bodice which has a neat little collar and smart sleeves. It has large patch pockets on the front skirt and chunky green buttons down the front.
The base fabric is white with a print in soft mustard, white, blue and green and the fabric is wonderfully heavy linen which has great drape and is delightfully cool for the warmer weather.
