Original 1945 dated Women's Land Army breeches.
Calf-length breeches made from light brown corduroy, they are cut wide at the hips and narrow at the calves and feature a fall-front, secured on either side of the waist by three buttons. There are two belt loops to the front and two to the back and they have lace up cuffs.
Measurements
The tag on these shows the size that the are meant for. They will fit up to a 24" waist, max, but you can move the buttons to achieve the 22", as stated on the ticket.
Inner leg 18.5"
Outer leg 29.5"
Will fit up to an 11" calf
Condition
They are in good, strong condition. The fabric is all in good order with no damage but there are a few points to note;
- there are 13 eyelets missing from the lace holes, an aesthetic issue because the laces still work fine
- the original laces are quite tatty on the end
- there are some marks on them, see the photos for details. I have washed the breeches and the marks have not come out.
