This great little wardrobe staple was made in the 1950's but it is very much in the style of an earlier 1930's coat.
Made from inky black crepe it is an edge to edge design which fastens at the waist with three plastic buttons. The coat is unlined.
It features long sleeves, broad shoulders with little shoulder pads and pretty darts from the shoulders down to the bust.
Labelled Roy Barra it is a great little piece for a vintage lover.
Measurements
The coat is labelled size 44 which indicates hip size and the coat will best fit up to a 42-38-44 depending on what you intend to wear underneath it. Condition
Very good with the following minor points to note;
- there are two pinhead holes in the back skirt section, only seen when held up to the light
- someone has let the coat out a little at the waist by shortening the darts that run from the shoulders, this is only seen on close inspection and noticeable by lines of stitches
- a few very small faint self marks in the back of the coat
- someone has taken two small darts in the back neck at some point to make it smaller. and these have been let out at some point and left stitch marks but they will fade in time
