This stunning 1950's evening dress comes in the most glorious shade of green and the nap in the velvet really makes in shine.
Made from cotton velvet it has a very close fitting bodice. The back bodice is smooth and unlined but the front bodice has wonderful ruching and is fully lined, the bodice is not boned. The skirt has a finely gathered waist and the dress fastens with a long metal back zip.
Absolutely perfect for an evening dance.
Measurements
The dress will best fit a 32-28-38 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Bust measured all around the inside 33"
Flat waist 14"
Hips free
Underarm to waist 7 1/2"
Skirt length 41"
Circumference of skirt at hem 80"
Condition
Good with the following points to note;
- there are a number of small darns in one area of the skirt along with a few pinhead holes, I'm guessing someone got a heel caught in it - they are only seen when looking for them because in wear the fullness of the skirt covers them
- there is a 1" patch on the hem of the skirt, again, assuming heel damage
- hem is a little grubby in places - I have sponged the hem and a lot has come off - it's only from where the skirt has dragged on the floor
- a 5mm darn on the bodice near the front waist
- a 1.5" repair in the strap but this isn't seen when worn
Even with the issues the dress is absolutely stunning.
