This absolutely stunning dress is just perfect for an evening dance.
Made in the 1950's and labelled Berthe Alexandrie, this dress would have been incredible when originally made. Sadly, time hasn't been that kind to it, so if you are looking for perfection then this piece isn't for you.
A close fitting, fully lined bodice the straps are ruched and lined with soft net fabric. The skirt has a stiff nylon underskirt which helps the piece keep it's shape and there is a separate underskirt with a hook and zip fastener.
The fabric is fine organza covered with the prettiest gold lame embroidery in swirls of leaves. There is a metal side zip.
Although it isn't perfect, the lame really shimmers in the light and this is a truly charming piece.

This piece will best fit a 35/36-27-38 but to ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 17" in the back and 19" in the front
Flat waist 13.5"

Underarm to waist 7"
Shoulder to waist when laid flat 45.5"
Strap width 4"
Underskirt - Flat waist 13.5" and length 29"
Condition
Good with some points to note;
- it looks like it would have originally been boned in the bodice
- on close inspection there are some watermarks - only seen in some lights
- on the front skirt there is a long mark 8" by 2" wide - see photo
- 1cm mark on the right front bodice
- someone has turned up the hem by 5" - I don't think you'll be able to drop the hem as there may be a line remaining
- 2 small repairs in the organza - only seen on close inspection
- a 1cm mark on the underskirt
