This pretty little dress was made in the late 1940's or early 1950's.
An ice-blue artificial silk base it has a close fitting waist and a neat crossover neckline. The entire dress is covered with black lace in a floral design. A fairly full skirt, which has great movement when you walk, the design is finished off perfectly with a thin cotton velvet band which ties in a bow in the front.
This piece will fit up to a 36-28-40 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 18"
Flat waist 14.5"
Shoulders from outer edge of shoulder pads 16"
Back neck to waist 16"
Back neck to hem 41"
Good with some minor points to note;
- someone has cut off the belt looks and there are slight tufts of the loops left - hard to unpick them without risking damage to the lace so I have left them as they aren't too visible and would be covered if you wore a belt
- the underskirt has some faint marks, not seen when worn
- some light wear to the edge of the ribbon trim
- there is a small repair to the lace on the left hip area - see photo
