This beautiful dress was made in the 1940's from dusky pink crepe.
A home sewn piece, using a mixture of both machine and hand sewing, it features a crossover bodice decorated with beading and soutache on the right front, and ruffles on the left neckline. With three-quarter length sleeves, which have neat cuffs, it has a skimming skirt and fastens on the left side with a metal zip.
I believe this was originally a full length dress as the hem has not been finished well and isn't in keeping with the rest of the dress but it still makes a great day dress and would fabulous belted.

Condition
Good with some minor points to note;
- a 1cm long darn running along the inner neck edge
- a 1/2cm darn in the front skirt, 2" up from the hem
- a 1/2cm farn on the front left shoulder
- a 1" long and 1/3" wide darn on the back skirt, just up from the hem
- a few small marks on the back hem, slightly noticeable on the outside but more seen on the inside
- the zip has been a bit poorly fitted
- the mix of hand and machine stitching on the piece means it is not as neatly finished as it could have been
Still a gorgeous piece and the issues really are minor.
